Japanese Knotweed Alert
Members should keep away from the japanese knotweed in wauds meadow this to avoid spreading it. It is now being treated by a specialist.
The area concerned is wauds where the Lea Brook enters the Derwent.
Further clumps have been found on the bank at Doars Glide (at the bottom of the stone steps on the right) and near the railway bridge below the sewerage works. These are being looked into.
Angling Trust auction winners day on the river
The Angling Trust are a not for profit organisation, representing anglers, fighting for fish, fishing and the environment.
CFFC belongs to the Angling Trust.
In March this year, to raise funds, the Angling Trust ran an auction which offers fishing throughout the UK kindly donated by supporters.
This year CFFC donated a day’s fishing on our waters that Phil Thompson kindly agreed to guide.
