Work Parties cancelled

Due to the weather and high water both evening work parties on Tuesay 14th and Wednesday 15th have been cancelled .

WORK PARTY CANCELLED

The work party scheduled for tomorrow 4th November has unfortunately been cancelled due to the rubbish forecast and current high level of the river.

It is unlikely we'll be able to schedule another one for 2023 but will definitely be having a pre-season clear up early next year. Watch this space!!

FINAL WORK PARTY SATURDAY 4TH NOVEMBER

Your last chance to contribute to the club this season is this Saturday 4th November.

Meet at Homesford car park 9.30am onwards to sign up for a 10am start.

We will finish by 1pm. Strimming and bank clearing will be the main tasks,

IF THE WEATHER IS BAD AND WE HAVE TO CANCEL WE WILL POST A NOTICE HERE AND ON FACEBOOK SO PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK!!

YOUR FINAL CHANCE! WORK PARTY SATURDAY NOVEMBER 4TH

This season's final Work Party will be on Saturday November 4th and provides an opportunity for those who haven't contributed anything to the club recently to come and give a hand. Lots of strimming required, some bank clearance, some ivy clearance where it has grown over signs and general tidying up.

Please meet at Homesford car park 9.30am for safety/risk assessment briefing and start work at 10am. It would be very handy to know if you're planning to come so we have an idea of numbers...please contact either Steve Dalby (07814259642) or Steve Hannath (07710278824). Many thanks.

Upcoming Work Party July 11 (from Steve Dalby)

The club is currently reviewing work party attendance in accordance with the clubs membership rules.
We are aware that some members haven't, for the last two years at least, attended a work party or contributed to the club in some other way. There will be another opportunity this year to make that contribution.
On 11th July help will be required to clear the track from the aqueduct towards Doars Glide to enable access for the stocking vehicle.
This will include clearing the track of vegetation before and after strimming and possibly helping to carry fish to the river, and potentially other tasks.
This club relies on the cooperation and involvement of its members to maintain the banks, fishing quality and access. At the moment many members help the committee to carry out the majority of tasks. If you haven't managed to help out before, now is your chance. Please notify Steve Dalby or Steve Hannath if you are able to attend. Its good fun, rewarding, gives you the opportunity meet other members and put something back into a great club which is, let's face it, ridiculously cheap.
We look forward to seeing you.
If you have already done something this season, many thanks. This working party is for those that have not the chance to join in and support our club. Meet at the lodge at 10am on 11th July.

Tree Planting on Homesford meadow Dec. 2022

The trees planted were 8 oaks grown by  former club secretary David Stretton plus native yew, holly and a couple of smaller oaks grown from acorns supplied by our Head Bailiff.

Many of the existing trees (alder and ash) on Homesford meadow are dead or dying. The club will continue the effort to replace these, for both environmental and bank safety reasons. We will also add new trees to improve the environment.
