On Wednesday 24th May Bob Lomax, Chris Heath and Jonathan Park took some kick samples in various spots down at Provost’s for a total of 3 minutes. We then went back to the lodge to sort through the invertebrates with the following results (we even had a couple hatching as we were counting!):

Blue Winged Olive. 14 (2)
Olives. 100+ (3)
Heptagenid 50+ (2)
Mayfly 1 (1)
Gammarus 13 (2)
Case Caddis 30 (2)
Caseless Caddis 21 (2)
Stonefly 3 (1)

The figures in brackets are the points scored as set out by the Riverfly Partnership – 1 point for 1-10, 2 points for 11-100, and 3 points for 100+

Total points 15 which is a good result given previous readings.
